📝 Job Description: Senior MEP Engineer (Part-Time) Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee design and implementation of MEP systems, and ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
This role is suited for a seasoned professional who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on technical contributions.
Key Responsibilities Lead the design, review, and coordination of MEP systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
Conduct feasibility studies, load calculations, and system design analysis.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into project designs.
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues during design and construction phases.
Support project management teams with scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Contribute to value engineering initiatives to optimize system performance and cost efficiency.
🎓 Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in MEP design, engineering, and project management.
Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering successful projects.
Technical Skills Expertise in HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other design software.
Strong knowledge of local building codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, and other relevant standards.
Ability to conduct advanced calculations and system modeling.
Familiarity with sustainable design practices and green building certifications (e.
g., LEED).
