Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Medical Coder with 3–5 years of professional coding experience to support accurate coding, compliance, and reimbursement across multiple specialties. The candidate must be proficient in CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, payer rules, NCCI edits, MUEs, and documentation requirements. This role will also support validation of our AI-assisted coding solution and work across various EMR platforms.
Job Responsibilities:


  • Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation.
  • Ensure coding compliance with CMS, AMA, and payer-specific guidelines.
  • Review and resolve coding denials, NCCI/MUE conflicts, and documentation deficiencies.
  • Maintain an accuracy level of 95% or higher.
  • Collaborate with providers and internal teams to clarify documentation and improve coding quality.
  • Support AI coding validation by reviewing AI recommendations, identifying discrepancies, and providing corrective feedback.
  • Work efficiently across multiple EMR systems.
  • Stay updated on annual CPT/ICD/HCPCS changes and payer policy updates.
  • Proactively identifies and communicates problems and opportunities, actively recommend and implement solutions for process improvement.
  • Provide support to providers on proper coding and documentation practices.
  • Reviews and Monitors KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and conduct internal audits to improve the RCM and coding integrity.
  • Other duties related to coding projects as assigned.
     

Qualifications:


  • CPC or equivalent certification (AAPC/AHIMA).
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in physician or multispecialty coding.
  • Strong knowledge of: E/M Guidelines, NCCI edits, LCD/NCD & MUEs, Medicare & commercial payer rules
  • Experience coding in at least 3–4 specialties (e.g., Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Oncology, Surgery, Cardiology, Orthopedics, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret clinical documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication skills and detail-oriented work ethic.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced RCM environments.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Experience with AI-assisted or computer-assisted coding tools (Preferred).
  • Exposure to coding audits and quality improvement processes (Preferred).
  • Ability to manage batch coding and meet productivity standards (Preferred).
