Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.

Role Overview
The System Stability Triage Engineer is responsible for analyzing, debugging, and owning system-level stability issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers. This role serves as the first line of technical investigation for crashes, hangs, performance degradation, and other stability-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive effective root-cause analysis and resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Triage and debug complex system stability issues, including crashes, hangs, reboots, memory corruption, and performance regressions.
Analyze logs, memory dumps, traces, and core files to identify root causes across kernel, drivers, firmware, and user space.
Efficiently leverage AI-based techniques for automatic issue triaging and analysis.
Identify recurring stability trends and propose systemic fixes to improve overall system robustness.
Provide clear technical updates, root-cause summaries, and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics , or a related field with minimum 3-5 years’ experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a system-level debugging mindset.
Good understanding of operating system concepts, including Process scheduling, Memory management, Interrupt handling, Device drivers, Synchronization mechanisms & PCI buses.
Experience using debugging and analysis tools such as gdb, Trace32/JTAG, or crash dump analyzers.
Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
Knowledge of networking and connectivity protocols (WLAN, Bluetooth, Ethernet, network stack) and the Android framework is a plus.
Familiarity with embedded systems and processor architectures is a plus.
Experience working with logs, traces, and diagnostic frameworks is a plus.
