Project Role : Scrum Master
Project Role Description : Acts as an enabler for the effective functioning of a software development team using Agile methodologies. Coaches and mentors the Scrum Team(s), removing barriers to successful implementation and enabling a continued focus on the task at hand. Facilitates scrum and agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Identifies and reports progress via appropriate metrics.

Job Summary:
As a Scrum Master, should serve as a coach and facilitator for one or more cross-functional teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum theory, practices, and rules. Your primary goal is to foster a productive, collaborative, and continuously improving environment that enables the team to deliver high-quality products efficiently and without distraction.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum Events: Lead and ensure all Scrum events—Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective—are productive, positive, and time-boxed.
Remove Impediments: Proactively identify and eliminate any obstacles, distractions, or organizational impediments that hinder the team's progress or ability to meet sprint goals.
Coach the Team: Mentor the development team in self-management, cross-functionality, and a deep understanding of Agile values and principles. Encourage a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Support the Product Owner: Assist the Product Owner in effective Product Backlog management, including refinement, writing clear user stories, and helping the team understand the need for clear and concise backlog items to maximize value delivery.
Promote Transparency and Communication: Ensure clear communication channels within the team and between the team and stakeholders, providing visibility into project progress and metrics like velocity and burndown charts.
Shield the Team: Act as a buffer between the team and external interference or distractions, allowing the team to remain focused on the current sprint goals.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Guide the team in their Inspect and Adapt activities, utilizing retrospectives and data (metrics) to identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience as a Scrum Master for a software development or product team.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework. Familiarity with other methodologies like Kanban or scaled agile frameworks (SAFe) is a plus.
Soft Skills:
o Outstanding communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
o Strong servant-leadership qualities, with the ability to influence and coach rather than command.
o Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Tools: Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
