The AKDN (Aga Khan Development Network) Digital Health Resource Centre (dHRC) is an initiative that leverages Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to improve healthcare access, quality, cost, efficiency, and safety, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. It supports service delivery and research projects in Asia and Africa and focuses on building capacity for healthcare providers. The Innovation Lab within dHRC develops and tests low-cost, high-impact health solutions.


The Project Coordinator (GB-based) will support the effective planning, coordination, and field-level implementation of project activities in Gilgit-Baltistan. The role requires close collaboration with the Government Department of Health and other stakeholders to ensure timely execution and alignment with project objectives. The incumbent will oversee coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, while supporting capacity building and community mobilization efforts. The position demands strong local presence, proactive problem-solving, and continuous communication to keep the Department of Health, GB fully apprised of project progress and challenges.


This is a grant-funded contractual position.


ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to: 


  • execute project work plan activities at project sites; track tasks, budgets, and expenditures; and prepare timely project reports and updates for submission to the Department of Health and the project principal investigator
  • monitor field activities in coordination with relevant staff to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met in accordance with the approved project plan
  • supervise and ensure effective coordination between frontline workers and data collectors; guide to ensure proper use of the mobile application and accurate data entry as per project requirements
  • coordinate with field teams to identify, address, and resolve operational issues promptly
  • oversee field team activities to ensure proper implementation of project interventions, including coordination and execution of data collection processes
  • ensure that both online and offline data are accurately synchronised with the central server
  • supervise and ensure timely communication of updates, challenges, and progress to field supervisors and the digital health resource centre team
  • plan, organise and manage periodic surveys in line with the project’s defined monitoring & evaluation (m&e) framework; coordinate with relevant government departments, including the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI), national programme for lady health workers (lhws), district health officers and associated supervisory teams, as required for project implementation
  • serve as a liaison between field staff and supervisors to facilitate effective communication and coordination
  • support periodic review meetings, audits, and field visits by project leadership and government stakeholders by ensuring the availability of required documentation, data, and logistical arrangements
  • prepare and share periodic progress summaries, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders, including the Department of Health, to support informed decision-making.

RequirementsYou should have: 


  • bachelor’s or master’s degree in any field, social sciences, or public health will be preferred
  • at least two years of work experience in a similar role
  • basic knowledge and hands-on experience in the use of mobile technologies/applications
  • experience in managing field teams
  • sensitivity to cultural and regional differences
  • strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • demonstrated resilience and ability to work under pressure
  • ability to speak and understand the local languages of Gilgit-Baltistan.
