As a Reference Data Team Lead within Corporate and Investment Bank Operations – Instrument Reference Data (IRD), you will be responsible for defining, refining, and delivering strategic objectives that enhance data quality, strengthen control frameworks, and support critical business processes across the firm.


Job Responsibilities


  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Instrument Reference Data team to deliver accurate and timely data
  • Follow the global operating model to service instrument data requirements across Securities Services and Markets businesses
  • Analyze and validate data to enhance quality across critical reference data attributes and asset classes
  • Partner with teams to manage creation, maintenance, and resolution of data exceptions on core platforms
  • Implement and monitor controls to reduce financial risk and ensure operational integrity
  • Collaborate with business and product teams to define requirements and embed data quality controls
  • Drive improvements in instrument data processes and contribute to control framework enhancements
  • Support change initiatives, product releases, and transformation projects
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve queries and provide data insights
  • Mentor and guide team members to build capability and drive performance
  • Ensure adherence to governance standards and continuous process improvement

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in Financial Services with exposure to Instrument Reference Data
  • Strong knowledge of financial instruments such as fixed income, equities, or derivatives
  • Understanding of securities operations and reference data lifecycle
  • Experience working with market data vendors such as Bloomberg, ICE, Euroclear, or Refinitiv
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including SQL and advanced MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage teams and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working across global teams and operating models
  • Flexibility to support EMEA time zone requirements

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills


  • Experience leading reference data or operations teams
  • Exposure to data governance, controls, and risk frameworks
  • Experience supporting transformation or change programs
  • Familiarity with automation or data quality tools
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Business, or related field
