The Associate Advisor role will report to the Mainframe IMS team is the technical authority for IMS within the enterprise. This role is responsible for the design, day‑to‑day stability, and long‑term health of IMS environments, including installation, configuration, maintenance, performance, and recovery. The position covers the full IMS stack, including DB/DC, TM, Connect, DBRC and RECON management) and the supporting subsystems required to run IMS reliably in a large production environment.


This position has direct responsibility for ensuring IMS platforms are available, resilient, and recoverable. That includes ownership of high‑availability and disaster recovery capabilities, performance tuning, capacity planning, and hands‑on involvement in complex incidents and outages. The Associate Advisor is expected to lead during problem situations, make sound technical decisions under pressure, and ensure issues are resolved correctly and permanently. The Associate Advisor works closely with application teams, infrastructure partners, and leadership to support existing workloads while driving practical modernization through automation, tooling improvements, and operational simplification. This position also serves as the primary IMS escalation point, provides technical direction and mentoring to other engineers, and advises leadership on platform risk, readiness, and future direction.
