HIH-Automation Engineer Lead Analyst


Position Summary

The Automation Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer – Lead Analyst is a mid‑to‑senior level role responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of large‑scale, production‑grade platforms. This role owns production support outcomes while designing, building, and scaling automation and infrastructure solutions across cloud and containerized environments.


The engineer plays a critical role in platform stability by leading incident response, driving root cause analysis, implementing preventative automation, and enhancing system observability. They contribute to platform architecture and strategy, mentor junior engineers, and continuously improve systems through DevOps and SRE best practices.


Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Reliability & Production Support
  • Own production support for assigned platforms, services, and automation workflows, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Lead incident response activities including troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and post‑incident reviews.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across application, compute, storage, and network layers.
  • Drive operational excellence by identifying recurring issues and implementing automation to prevent incident recurrence.
Automation & Infrastructure Engineering
  • Design, build, and maintain automation solutions using scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop and manage IaC using tools such as Terraform and related cloud‑native templates to ensure consistent and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
  • Automate operational workflows using Python, Bash, and/or Go to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient cloud and container infrastructure.
Container & Cloud Platforms
  • Design, deploy, and operate production‑grade Kubernetes (K8s) clusters in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Apply deep Kubernetes expertise to cluster provisioning, scaling, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Support workloads across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and on‑premises infrastructure.
  • Resolve platform and customer tickets related to deployments, infrastructure, and performance issues.
CI/CD & DevOps Practices
  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Argo, Flux, or equivalent technologies.
  • Enable continuous integration, delivery, and progressive deployment strategies.
  • Promote DevOps and SRE best practices across engineering and operations teams.
Observability & Performance
  • Enhance observability through dashboards, alerts, logging, and tracing pipelines.
  • Monitor system health and performance using tools such as Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Perform capacity planning and data‑driven analysis to proactively identify and mitigate bottlenecks.

  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, Secrets Manager), Azure
  • Containers & Orchestration: Kubernetes (K8s)

  • Operating Systems: Linux (advanced administration and troubleshooting)
Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–9 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, automation, or production support roles.
  • Strong hands‑on experience supporting large‑scale, production‑grade systems.
  • Proven ability to lead incidents, make sound technical decisions, and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application, server, cloud, and container layers.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Must‑Have Skills
  • Advanced expertise in Kubernetes and container platform operations.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation experience using Terraform and related tools.
  • Cloud platform proficiency (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Expert‑level Linux administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.
Nice‑to‑Have
  • Certifications in Kubernetes, cloud platforms, DevOps, or SRE practices.
  • Experience operating hybrid or multi‑cloud environments.
  • Exposure to advanced networking or security concepts in cloud and container platforms.
    Location & Hours of Work:
     
  • Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate.
  • Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, with flexibility to work remotely as required (3 days WFO and 2 days WAH).
