General Summary:



As a Staff Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, debug, optimization and commercialization of software solutions for Qualcomm’s next-generation IoT platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and lead a team of Engineers and contribute to the advancement of critical technologies such as virtualization, memory management, scheduler and Linux Kernel.Key Responsibilities====================Contribute to architecture and development of Linux kernel features for Armv8/v9-based SoCs in areas like virtualization (KVM), scheduling, and memory management (IOMMU). Optimize power and performance management technologies like DVFS for next-generation ARM-based systems. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-performance, scalable software solutions. Debug and resolve complex software issues using tools like JTAG debuggers. Drive improvements in system software for ARMv8 and ARMv9 based platforms. Lead kernel bring-up on new silicon and virtual platforms Lead and mentor a team of 3–5 engineers and contribute to technical reviews, design documentation, and architectural decisions. Represent the company in open-source communities and industry working groupsRequired Qualifications========================Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of experience in Linux kernel development, with a strong focus on Arm architecture. Deep understanding of kernel subsystems such as memory management, scheduler, device drivers, perf and power management, and interrupt handling. Strong debugging skills using tools like ftrace, perf, kgdb, crash, and kernel logsPreferred Qualifications=========================Experience with virtualization Solid knowledge of ARMv8 and ARMv9 architecture and its extensions is plus. Solid understanding of computer system architecture (core, cache, memory models, bus architecture, etc.). Experience in Board and SOC bringup, Device drivers, peripheral buses (SPI, I2C, USB), Memory controllers for DDR Familiarity with tools like SCM tools (e.g., GIT) and debugging technologies like JTAG debuggers. Contributions to open-source (Linux kernel) project. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for kernel testing and validation. Knowledge of firmware interfaces (UEFI, ACPI, Devicetree) and bootloaders (U-Boot, EDK2).

Minimum Qualifications:



• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
