Job Purpose
  • Lead and supervise electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities for plant machinery.
  • Ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical regulations, and company policies.
  • Act as the licensed government representative for electrical compliance at site.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and maintenance practices.
  • Maintain proper maintenance records, reports, and statutory documentation.


Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and supervise preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure high reliability and availability of plant equipment while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motors, control systems, VFDs, fire alarm systems, boilers, compressors, generators, transformers, LV switchgear, and material handling equipment.
  • Execute maintenance activities through SAP PM Module, including notifications, maintenance orders, service entries, goods receipts, and technical closure of jobs.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering teams for planning and execution of electrical modifications and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, AIG standards, Electricity Act 1910, and Electricity Rules 1937.
  • Act as the licensed electrical representative for plant inspections, audits, and regulatory coordination with government authorities and DISCO.
  • Implement SHE policies, PTW systems, JSAs, and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage contractor performance, annual maintenance contracts, vendor evaluations, and technical/commercial assessments.
  • Monitor engineering KPIs, energy consumption indicators, and maintenance performance metrics.
  • Maintain discipline, manpower planning, shift coverage, overtime control, and team development activities.
  • Provide technical coaching, training, and performance management for technicians and contractors.
  • Support project execution, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations.


Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance within petrochemical, fertilizer, oil & gas, or large manufacturing industries.
  • At least 6 years of supervisory experience managing electrical maintenance teams.
  • Hands-on experience working in hazardous industrial environments and running plant modifications.
  • Strong experience with SAP PM Module and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and utilities equipment.
  • Experience in contractor management, vendor coordination, and annual maintenance contract negotiations.
  • Practical exposure to SHE management systems, PTW procedures, JSAs, and risk assessments.


Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
