Cloud Engineering Advisor
Position Overview
The Cloud Engineer Advisor will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying scalable and efficient AI solutions with a focus on privacy, security, and fairness, using major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This role requires proficiency in cloud computing principles, services, and architecture, as well as experience in designing and developing software or infrastructure for distributed systems and machine learning technologies. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide expertise in GenAI and ensure the smooth integration and utilization of Large Language Models (LLMs), Transformers, and other advanced AI technologies in enterprise environments. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong programming skills, and experience in the healthcare domain are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud computing principles, services (such as resource pooling, rapid elasticity, measured service) and architecture (microservice and serverless) from major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, OpenShift).
- Efficiently managing cloud resources to optimize performance and cost.
- Build enterprise grade AI solutions with focus on privacy, security, and fairness.
- Identify and resolve complex technical challenges encountered by AI developers using AWS (preferred) to build solutions.
- Architect and develop software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems and with machine learning technologies.
- Design and implement solutions leveraging OpenShift's features for container orchestration or using AWS services, S3, Lambda, and EC2 to configure LLMs
- Test latest LLMs using standard evaluation criteria and make the LLMs available for enterprise use, with the right security, authentication, logging and monitoring.
- Work with frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTorch) and open-source platforms to deliver the best solutions
- Optimize existing generative AI models for improved performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain AI pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, and evaluation.
- Develop clear and concise documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and presentations, to communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices and standards for generative AI development within the organization.
- Hands-on experience writing database queries, No-SQL databases, preparing JSON/XML samples, modifying XML/JSON schemas, and authoring/publishing business rules.
- Hand-on experience with AWS services (API gateway, S3 bucket, Lambda, etc.)
- Knowledge of utilizing API clients such as Postman or SoapUI to run/analyze APIs. Responsible for writing basic REST API specifications if needed.
- Ability to debug and analyze production issues and clearly articulate the findings to technology and business groups.
- Responsible for writing test scenarios, test scripts, and testing if needed.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- 11 – 13 years of extensive experience on AWS Cloud along with Full stack engineering expertise with languages like C#, Python and Proficiency in designing architecture, building API Integrations, configuring and deploying cloud services, setting up authentication, monitoring and logging.
- Experience in implementing enterprise systems in production setting for AI, computer vision, natural language processing. Exposure to self-supervised learning, transfer learning, and reinforcement learning is a plus.
- Strong understanding and exposure in natural language generation or Gen AI like transformers, LLM’s, text embeddings.
- Experience with designing scalable software systems for classification, text extraction/summary, data connectors for different formats (pdf, csv, doc, etc.)
- Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, Hugging Face, Lang chain, Llama Index.
- 5+ years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
- OpenShift and Kubernetes Expertise: In-depth knowledge of OpenShift and Kubernetes concepts, architecture, and best practices
- Programming experience in C/C++, Java, Python.
- Good to have (not Mandatory) Web development and solution skills, Flask, Django (for Python) or Express (for Node.js) Basic knowledge of web frameworks for creating restful APIs to serve models as a service.
- AWS Services knowledge: Leveraging one or more of Sagemaker, S3, Lambda, and EC2 to build solutions on the AWS cloud.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and services, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative AI solutions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- Possess a proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Location & Hours of Work
- Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate.
- Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WAH)
