As a Duty Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the hotel's building systems, guest rooms, and public areas to the highest standards. You will ensure all engineering operations support an exceptional guest experience while promoting safety, sustainability, and cost-effective maintenance.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems.
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and operational emergencies.
Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure they meet IHG brand standards.
Troubleshoot equipment faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
Monitor the performance of plant and engineering equipment, reporting any defects or major maintenance requirements.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations and hotel policies.
Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives by promoting efficient use of utilities and resources.
Maintain engineering tools, equipment, and maintenance records accurately.
Work closely with other hotel departments to support daily operations and deliver excellent guest service.
What do we need from you?
Diploma or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or a related Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance, including at least 2 years of experience in GCC countries.
Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hotel engineering systems efficiently.
Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Service-oriented with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and emergency call-outs when required.
