Wood’s Consulting Division in Norway is seeking a dynamic and versatile Senior Subsea Designer or Subsea Designer, to strengthen the Drawing Office and Engineering Team in Stavanger. We are seeking individuals with a desire to support fast moving varied projects in both traditional energy and renewables industries. Supporting global energy transition through green energies and decarbonisation is already a key part of our business and expected to see significant growth.

The Senior Subsea Designer, or Subsea Designer, is responsible for the generation of 2D or 3D CAD models, routing design, structural arrangements and detailed engineering drawings, ensuring that Wood Drawing office standards and any relevant industry standards are adhered to.

Responsibilities:

Typical work scopes included within the remit of the role are to:


  • Prepare 2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor models, sketches, pipeline layouts, piping isometrics, structural arrangements & detail engineering drawings.
  • Prepare routing design and overall field layouts, approach drawings, rock dump drawings and alignment sheets.
  • Integrate seabed data using ArcGIS Pro or similar GIS tools.
  • Liaise with the subsea engineering teams in developing our digital tool set.

Qualifications:

Skills and Competencies:


  • Good working attitude with high focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Culturally aware, creative, and willing to work in a team.
  • Good knowledge of drawing setup and standards; or be an innovative fast learner.
  • Proactive, to feel comfortable seeking advice and share own experiences with others.
  • Good organisation skills.
  • Result orientated and to be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.


Qualifications:


  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A CAD related qualification is beneficial.
  • Experience within Subsea engineering is beneficial, however not necessary.
  • Experienced in CAD drafting, Autodesk systems, primarily AutoCAD,  Autodesk Inventor and Vault
  • Experience with GIS (primarily ArcGIS Pro) is beneficial, however not necessary.


The position is in the Stavanger office and attendance at the office is a requirement. Flexible working is an integrated part of our working life but a strong office-based environment is key for innovation and our success.
