Lead Marine Engineer

Our client is a global offshore engineering company specialising in the design, construction, and operation of floating energy production systems. Due to continued success they are looking to recruit a Lead Marine Engineer to play a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions across major offshore projects.
 
You will lead the discipline scope from concept through to execution, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and performance against project objectives.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of engineering activities within your discipline, ensuring compliance with international codes, industry standards, and project specifications
  • Plan and manage discipline deliverables to meet project timelines and budgets
  • Define and coordinate resource requirements across your scope
  • Ensure all work aligns with contractual and internal requirements
  • Manage interfaces with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies
  • Drive design optimisation and continuous improvement, including lessons learned
  • Support technical governance, potentially acting as a Principal Engineer or Technical Expert
 
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline
  • 10–15 years’ experience within the oil & gas or offshore energy sector
  • Strong background in detailed design, engineering calculations, and package delivery
  • Experience across marine/offshore environments
  • EPC & Offshore experience is required
  • Knowledge of safety and risk processes, including hazard analysis and formal safety assessments
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and interface across complex project environments
  • Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
