Job :

We are looking for an experienced and rigorous Midwife to join our Nursing and Hospital Hygiene Department at HUIR. She will be responsible for providing comprehensive and individualized care for mothers and newborns during physiological and/or pathological births, while ensuring safety, quality of care, and respect for rights.




Your main responsibilities will be:



1. Patient care in the delivery room:



  • Welcoming patients in labor and initial assessment (obstetric assessment)
  • Monitoring labor in accordance with protocols and good professional practices
  • Assisting with natural or instrumental delivery (forceps, vacuum extraction, etc.) in collaboration with doctors if necessary
  • Performing authorized obstetric procedures: episiotomy, uterine revision, etc.
  • Immediate post-partum monitoring and management of obstetric emergencies (hemorrhage, eclampsia, etc.).

2. Support and accompaniment of the patient and her family:



  • Emotional support and continuous information to the patient and
  • Preparation for breastfeeding and initial postnatal advice.
  • Respecting patient choices while ensuring medical safety.

3. Multidisciplinary collaboration:



  • Coordination with anesthetists, pediatricians, and obstetricians for optimal care.
  • Active participation in department meetings and post-intervention debriefings.
  • Reporting and managing high-risk situations (pre-eclampsia, dystocic labor, placental hemorrhage, etc.)

4. Training and supervision:



  • Welcoming and training student midwives or other interns
  • Participation in teaching and training activities

5. Participation in department management:



  • Application and adherence to hygiene protocols
  • Participation in the management of equipment and its maintenance (CTG, delivery tables, etc.)
  • Contribution to the continuous improvement of care quality (M&M reviews, clinical audits)


Required profile :
  • Bachelor's degree (3 years) in Midwifery
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role (delivery room and postpartum care)
  • Ability to diagnose and meet patient needs
  • Knowledge of the responsibilities of a nurse
  • Knowledge of best practice procedures and techniques relevant to the field of activity
  • Conducting resuscitation in partnership with the responsible physician in case of emergency.
