The main responsibilities focus on laboratory work in molecular genetics, including:
Receiving and identifying samples
Preparing samples
DNA extraction, PCR, preparation of libraries for next-generation sequencing (DNA extraction, PCR, indexing, normalization, pooling, and sequencing)
Sanger sequencing and qPCR assays
Participation in the validation of developed methods according to the quality system (method validation tests, SOP writing)
Knowledge of other analytical techniques is an asset
Maintenance of laboratory equipment, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, and supporting the management of consumable orders
Active participation in various laboratory activities
Management of genomic laboratory consumables (solvents, standards, small equipment, etc.)
Application of health and safety rules related to the use of chemicals, cryogenic liquids, and measuring equipment
Participation in the platform's certification process
Profile sought:
Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, biotechnology, or a related field
Experience with various techniques: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, preparation of libraries for next-generation sequencing, Sanger sequencing
Knowledge and experience in the use and maintenance of molecular genetics laboratory instruments
Demonstrated organizational skills, self-motivation, time management, and problem-solving experience
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, or equivalent
Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulations
Good communication skills (French and English)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality and accuracy
High level of rigor and attention to detail
