Reporting to the Operations Department, the Biodiversity Manager will have the following main responsibilities:
• Biodiversity Strategy and Associated Objectives: Implement and execute strategic orientations related to biodiversity and sustainable development. Set objectives for the preservation and restoration of forest ecosystems. Develop and monitor budgets for corresponding projects;
• Biodiversity, Climate, and Sustainable Development: Oversee actions for the preservation and restoration of forest ecosystems, lead carbon and environmental finance projects, and integrate climate challenges into sustainable management;
• Management and Monitoring of Biodiversity Performance Indicators: Define KPIs for the impact on forest biodiversity and sustainability objectives. Collect and analyze environmental data of forest ecosystems. Ensure reporting and propose continuous improvement measures integrating forestry, biodiversity, and sustainable development;
• Regulatory Compliance and Monitoring: Ensure the legal and regulatory compliance of Biodiversity and environmental projects, ensure respect for social and environmental standards, and maintain continuous monitoring;
• Participate in the Company's Cross-functional Projects: Contribute to cross-functional projects in coordination with the company's internal departments
• Engineer or Master's degree (Bac+5) in rural engineering, forestry, environment, ecology, agronomy, sustainable development, or a related field;
• Confirmed professional experience of at least 3 years in managing environmental, forestry, rural, biodiversity, or sustainable development projects. Experience in an operational and territorial setting highly appreciated;
• Good understanding of biodiversity issues, sustainable management of forest ecosystems, and climate change;
• Project management skills and experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder teams in cross-functional environments;
• Knowledge of carbon finance and carbon stock assessment appreciated;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to engage with diverse stakeholders (institutions, partners, forest-adjacent populations, funders);
• Ability to rally, mobilize, and convince stakeholders around collective projects;
• Initiative, creativity, autonomy, and analytical skills.
