Main Duties:
- Monitor, research, and interpret legislative changes in Malta and other jurisdictions to ensure proactive compliance
- Identify operational legal risks and implement robust solutions to protect the firm and its clients
- Support the implementation of legal frameworks, focusing on corporate governance, AML, and tax compliance
- Deliver legal analysis and risk assessments for mergers, cross-border transactions, and company formations
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities on complex or contentious matters
- Maintain accurate legal templates and refine internal policies to drive continuous improvement in corporate workflows
- Handle the full lifecycle of business structures, including private M&A, joint ventures, asset purchases, company restructurings, and specialized corporate advisory
- Provide expert guidance on the Companies Act, corporate governance, intellectual property rights, and various industrial commercial contracts
What skills do you need:
- Master's degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent), preferably from the University of Malta
- Law degree from a recognized institution; admission to practice in Malta is preferred
- Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and civil law
- Proficiency in the Companies Act, contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance
- Strong understanding of data protection (GDPR) and IP law; experience in gaming or tech is an asset
- Proven ability to lead legal teams with excellent negotiation and analytical skills
- Organized and capable of managing demanding transactions both independently and collaboratively
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, CRM software, and legal database management systems
