Financial Controller

Serage Construction & Oilfield Services is seeking a Financial Controller with strong construction and project cost‑control experience to establish and enforce financial discipline across ongoing civil and oil & gas projects.

This is a hands‑on role responsible for:

• Cost control
• Cashflow monitoring
• Payment governance
• Financial reporting

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure cost visibility, prevent financial leakage, and protect project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Project Cost Control

• Track budget vs. actual costs for each project
• Monitor labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Identify cost overruns and financial risks early
• Maintain accurate weekly and monthly project cost reports
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers
• Ensure project financial performance aligns with targeted profit margins
• Enforce financial discipline and compliance across all project activities

Cashflow & Financial Planning

• Prepare weekly and monthly cashflow forecasts
• Track client payments and expected inflows
• Maintain visibility of company liquidity
• Support financial planning with accurate data

Payment & Procurement Control

• Verify supplier invoices against POs, delivery notes, and site confirmations
• Ensure no payment is made without proper documentation
• Monitor subcontractor payment requests
• Prevent duplicate or unauthorized payments
• Plan and prioritize supplier payments

Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Generate project profitability and cost reports
• Produce management financial reports
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Maintain general ledger and financial records
• Oversee payroll processing
• Ensure tax and statutory compliance
• Establish and enforce financial procedures
• Improve internal control systems
• Support ERP system implementation
• Develop financial templates and reporting tools
