A Site/Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, overseeing, and managing construction projects from inception through completion. They serve as the technical authority on-site, ensuring all work is carried out safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
-Key Responsibilities:
Planning — review engineering drawings, site layouts, drainage plans, road alignments.
Site Supervision — Oversee day-to-day construction activities, coordinate subcontractors and labor, and ensure work conforms to specifications and approved drawings.
Project Management — Monitor project progress, prepare work programs, manage resources, and report to senior engineers or project managers.
Quality Assurance — Conduct inspections and testing (soil compaction, concrete strength, material compliance) and maintain quality control records.
Health & Safety — Enforce site safety plans, conduct risk assessments, and ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.
Documentation — Prepare method statements, daily site diaries, as-built records, variation orders, and progress reports.
Stakeholder Coordination — Liaise with clients, local authorities, utility companies, and consultants to resolve technical issues and obtain approvals.
Environmental Compliance — Ensure site activities meet environmental regulations (erosion control, sediment management, waste disposal).
Cost Control — Monitor quantities, assist in preparing bills of quantities, and flag potential cost overruns.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Relevant site experience
