Job description

The QA/QC Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical engineering projects within the general engineering consultancy sector. This position involves rigorous quality assurance and quality control processes to guarantee that all mechanical systems and components meet the required standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will work closely with project teams to implement quality management systems, conduct inspections, and ensure adherence to safety regulations. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of engineering projects and ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for mechanical engineering projects.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  3. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports and non-conformance reports.
  5. Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality control best practices.
  6. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality materials and components.
  7. Participate in project meetings to discuss quality-related issues and solutions.
  8. Assist in the development of project quality plans and procedures.
  9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in quality assurance methodologies.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. 1 to 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control in mechanical engineering.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  8. Proficient in using quality control tools and techniques.
  9. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  10. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
