Job description

  • Planning ,executing , monitoring & controlling the daily production in line with assembly lines requirement well in time to make sure smooth feeding to all the assembly lines.
  • To make sure the necessary process controls are in place & being followed by the operators which will ensure the consistent quality.
  • To make sure the material consumptions in the production process is as per BOM.
  • To minimize the process scrap as low as possible & improve on it by achieving process efficiency & suggesting & implementing ideas which will lead that.
  • Training & development of workforce continuously to have skill matrix improved & multiskilled manpower.
  • To maintain shop floor discipline & conduct as professional & make sure all the workman are engaged full time in the job with a clear understanding what is expected from them.
  • To maintain safe work place , work practices & use of required PPEs all the time during the production operation. To ensure no hanging wire & wires , pipes etc on the floor.
  • To maintain the house keeping (5S) of the production shop floor which includes proper storage of WIP material in demarcated area , there should be place for everything & everything should be in its place , No unwanted items/material should be lying , There should be identification of each process & material being processed , Rejected items should be stored in rejected area with proper tag.
  • To plan, get & maintain the required tools , tackles , storage racks/bins , trolleys , forklifts & reach trucks required during the production operation.
  • To define the departmental objectives in PQCDSM term , set the target for the year , monitor the actuals every month & achieve the target at the end of the year.(P – Production/productivity , Q – Quality , C – Cost , D – Delivery , S – Safety & M – Morale).
  • To capture , analyze daily & improve the departmental OEE (Over all Equipment Efficiency) which is a measurement of the health of the department.
  • To plan , monitor & control manhours daily based on the production need to make sure the manpower cost improves continually.
  • To do the capacity mapping for each machineries & equipment to ascertain actual capacity vs required capacity based on production requirement.
  • To prepare process upgradation & production enhancement plan for the year to fulfill the sales requirement.
  • To prepare capital investment plan (Capex) with ROI (payback period) calculations based on capacity mapping outcome.
  • To get the management approval on Capex & co-ordinate with purchase department for floating an enquiry for the required capital items to various suppliers.
  • To assess the ability of supplier & applicability of their offer to our requirements to qualify the supplier under consideration.
  • To evaluate & compare offers received from various suppliers & prepare a comparative study to decide on supplier.
  • To participate actively in awarding contract to the supplier while deciding terms & conditions of the contract which includes cost , time line , scope etc.
  • To co-ordinate with the suppliers , time to time , for seeking technical clarifications , required design , drawings , specifications necessary for preparation before arrival of capital item.
  • To monitor the progress of the project time to time to make sure it implements in time.
  • To generate ideas / Kaizens from the root cause analysis to continually improve on OEE.
  • To plan , design ,monitor & improve on process capability of critical processes like manual brazing , auto brazing , welding , vacuuming , painting. These are the processes which are very critical for the performance of the product.
