Job description

Department: Sales / Technical Sales

Reports to: Sales Director / Technical Manager

Job Summary

We are hiring a results-driven Sales Engineer with a strong background in electrical construction for commercial projects. This role combines technical knowledge with sales expertise to support the acquisition and execution of commercial developments, including office buildings, malls, mixed-use facilities, schools, and hospitals. The Sales Engineer will work closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams to deliver value-driven solutions from pre-sales through project completion.

Core Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify, target, and develop relationships with commercial property developers, consultants, and MEP contractors.
  • Manage and grow a pipeline of large-scale commercial electrical projects.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals that highlight the company’s technical capabilities and value proposition.

Technical Pre-Sales Support

  • Analyze tender documents, electrical drawings, and technical specs to prepare accurate and competitive quotes.
  • Recommend suitable materials, systems (e.g., switchgear, lighting, power distribution), and installation methods.
  • Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure pricing and technical compliance.

Project Interface

  • Support transition from sales to execution: assist with kickoff meetings, technical clarifications, and client expectations.
  • Provide technical input during project execution if needed, and support change order negotiations.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor trends in commercial electrical construction (e.g., energy efficiency, smart building systems).
  • Stay updated on local regulations, tender cycles, and key commercial development timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of sales, technical, or project experience in commercial electrical construction.
  • Proven track record working with consultants, general contractors, and MEP firms on large-scale commercial jobs.
  • Strong knowledge of local electrical codes, commercial power distribution, lighting systems, and low-voltage systems (e.g., BMS, fire alarms).
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Zoho, Salesforce), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driving license; willingness to visit client sites and projects.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in managing sales cycles for projects over [insert threshold, e.g., $500,000].
  • Understanding of LEED/green building standards and energy-saving technologies.
  • Bilingual – Arabic & English.
