Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Electrical Draftsman with strong technical drawing skills and experience in commercial construction. The role involves preparing accurate electrical drawings, layouts, and as-built plans for large-scale commercial projects such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools. The ideal candidate must be able to interpret engineering markups and create precise technical documents that comply with project specifications and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drawing & Drafting
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), lighting layouts, power layouts, ELV systems, and grounding plans.
- Generate shop drawings, schematic diagrams, and as-built drawings in compliance with project specs.
- Update drawings based on site feedback and engineering instructions.
- Coordination
- Work closely with electrical engineers, site teams, and other MEP drafters to ensure coordination across disciplines.
- Assist in resolving design conflicts and discrepancies through drawing revisions.
- Documentation & Control
- Maintain organized records of drawing revisions, submittals, and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, project guidelines, and client standards.
- Software Proficiency
- Use AutoCAD and related drafting software (e.g., Revit MEP if applicable) to produce high-quality technical documentation.

🛠️ Technical & Drafting Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); knowledge of Revit, Dialux, or ETAP is a plus.
- Clear understanding of electrical systems in commercial construction (lighting, power, low voltage, etc.).
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
📐 Design & Accuracy
- High level of attention to detail in scaling, measurements, and drawing clarity.
- Familiarity with local codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, and civil defense requirements).
🤝 Teamwork & Communication
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, consultants, and site supervisors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple drawing packages.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Electrical Drafting / Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Draftsman in commercial or industrial construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with submission formats required by local municipalities and utility authorities.
