Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Landfill Gas Consultant to join our team based in Amman, Jordan.


This position will be responsible for the technical delivery of landfill projects involving landfill gas management and utilisation. The role will focus on the development of landfill gas generation and capture models, landfi ll gas utilisation feasibility studies, and the detailed design of landfill gas management and utilisation systems. In addition, candidates should be able to provide technical oversight of landfi ll gas construction/implementation projects, landfi ll closure designs and support delivery of other related waste containment / waste infrastructure projects.


We envisage success in this role to include:


  • Undertaking landfill gas generation and capture modelling for utilisation feasibility assessments, using internationally recognized tools/models.
  • Undertaking engineering designs and calculations for landfill gas capture and utilisation systems.
  • Preparing construction drawings, specifi cations, and technical design reports.
  • Undertaking landfill gas risk assessments for new or existing sites.
  • Supervising construction and/or monitoring of landfill gas systems.
  • Overseeing landfill gas site investigation studies and pumping trials.
  • Coordinate with the landfill design team to integrate locally applicable and cost-effective gas management systems into new landfills or landfill closure projects.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance relating to landfill gas emissions.
  • Provide professional advice to clients relating to landfill gas management.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10+ years of experience in landfill gas management systems design and
modelling, partnered with a Bachelor’s degree or similar qualification in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related fi eld (Master’s preferred). A professional engineering registration / chartership would be advantageous.


Furthermore, you should demonstrate:


  • Consultancy experience in landfill gas / biogas management, landfill design, and the waste management sector in general.
  • A strong understanding of landfill gas generation processes, extraction and management systems, utilisation technologies, emissions controls, etc.
  • Proficiency in using recognized landfill gas modelling tools.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication ability
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team of engineers across various office locations
  • Knowledge of key landfill design criteria and relevant international regulations
