Job description

Spotify is looking for a Growth Manager to help accelerate user and subscriber growth in Japan. This role will play a key part in shaping and executing Japan-specific growth strategies, working closely with cross-functional partners both locally and globally.

As a Growth Manager, you will lead end-to-end growth initiatives — from strategic planning through execution and performance analysis — while navigating a highly collaborative and matrixed environment.

You’ll combine strong analytical thinking with curiosity and adaptability, helping Spotify continue to grow in one of its most unique and dynamic markets.

What You'll Do

  • Own the growth strategy for Japan, defining market-level priorities, success metrics, and trade-offs across the user lifecycle in partnership with regional and global teams

  • Translate global and regional growth priorities into locally relevant strategies informed by data and market insights

  • Lead the planning and execution of growth campaigns, ensuring high-quality delivery from campaign initiation through execution, optimization, and post-campaign analysis

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Music, Analytics, Strategy & Operations, Product, Legal, and Finance to deliver aligned and effective initiatives

  • Manage key stakeholders across Japan and the region, clearly communicating strategy, progress, results, and learnings

  • Own ongoing performance management for the Japan market, synthesizing results across initiatives to identify trends, opportunities, and strategic implications beyond individual campaigns

  • Contribute to a strong learning culture by documenting results and sharing insights across teams and markets

Who You Are

  • You have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in growth, Product marketing, strategy, or a related role within a consumer, digital, or subscription-based business

  • You’re comfortable owning initiatives end-to-end, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution

  • You are highly analytical and data-informed, with strong critical and structured thinking skills

  • You enjoy working across diverse teams and functions, and can adapt your communication style to different stakeholders

  • You’re curious, open-minded, and motivated to learn — able to thrive in ambiguous and fast-moving environments

  • You communicate clearly and thoughtfully, both verbally and in writing

  • You are fluent in Japanese and English

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in Tokyo
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 3 times per week
