Overview


Business Development – Japan plays a key role in supporting ILAC’s student recruitment and partnership efforts in Japan. This role focuses on executing regional sales strategies, building and maintaining strong relationships with education agents and institutional partners, and promoting ILAC’s brand and programs to increase student enrollment. The ideal candidate has experience in international student recruitment, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the local education market.


This position will be based in Japan.




Key Responsibilities


    • Sales Execution: Support and implement ILAC’s sales strategies for Japan to drive student enrollment and increase brand presence in the region.
    • Agent & Partner Engagement: Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with education agents, school counselors, and other key partners.
    • Student Recruitment: Represent ILAC at student fairs, school visits, and online events to promote programs and support student inquiries.
    • Business Market Development: Identify new opportunities and assist in developing new partnerships that align with ILAC’s recruitment goals.
    • Client Support: Provide timely and accurate information to agents, students, and parents regarding ILAC’s programs, admissions process, and visa requirements.
    • Collaboration: Work with the Head of Sales and broader international team to align efforts, share insights, and support overall sales targets.
    • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to provide feedback and suggest local tactics.
    • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and provide regular updates on progress toward recruitment goals.


Qualifications


    • Experience: Business Development, Sales, marketing, or international student recruitment, preferably in the education or language learning sector.
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or related field is preferred.
    • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with international education trends, agent networks, and the Canadian education system is a strong asset.
    • Cultural Understanding: Strong understanding of the cultural dynamics, business practices, and educational systems in Asia, particularly in Japan.
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
    • Language Skills: Proficiency in Japanese and English; proficiency in other languages is highly desirable.
    • Travel: Willingness to travel frequently for business development, client meetings, and industry events.
