Job Summary
The MEP Engineer (HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical) will lead the execution of all MEP packages for a high-end residential building comprising 21 apartments in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The role is responsible for delivering compliant, high-quality MEP installations within budget and schedule, while ensuring effective coordination with all stakeholders, strict safety standards, and regular reporting to project management. The scope may include HVAC/ventilation, plumbing and sanitary systems, electrical works (CFO/CFA), and associated systems such as fire alarm, BMS, access control, and CCTV, depending on the project perimeter.
Job Responsibilities
• Review and analyze project documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, schematics, calculations, and client requirements.
• Prepare, review, and validate MEP shop drawings, execution drawings, single-line diagrams, isometrics, and builders’ work requirements.
• Lead MEP coordination and technical synthesis with architecture and structure to resolve clashes related to shafts, ceiling heights, and false ceilings.
• Plan and manage MEP execution works by zones, apartments, floors, and technical rooms.
• Coordinate all MEP subcontractors (HVAC, plumbing, electrical CFO/CFA) and suppliers on site.
• Interface with civil works, partitions, joinery, false ceilings, elevators, façade works, and external networks.
• Implement and enforce MEP quality control plans, including inspections, checklists, and hold points.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and high-end comfort, acoustic, and aesthetic requirements.
• Manage MEP budget and cost control: tender analysis, procurement, commitments, value engineering (without compromising quality), and subcontractor payments.
• Develop and update MEP execution schedules, identify critical paths, long-lead items, and implement recovery plans when required.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, balancing, and final handover of all MEP systems.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering progress, risks, quality, HSE, procurement, costs, and KPIs.
RequirementsJob Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or MEP (or equivalent).
• 5 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in MEP execution for building projects, preferably high-end residential, hospitality, or premium office developments.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC/ventilation, plumbing and sanitary systems, and electrical works (CFO/CFA).
• Proven experience in MEP coordination, technical synthesis, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); MS Project or Primavera is an advantage; advanced Excel skills required. Revit/BIM knowledge is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, leadership on site, and ability to manage subcontractors and enforce quality standards.
• Clear communication skills, strong coordination ability, and a results-driven mindset focused on quality, cost, and deadlines.
• Good command of French.
