Job Purpose



The Senior Cost Estimator will be responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for the Project in Iraq, focusing on ensuring that all financial aspects align with project requirements. This role is pivotal in helping to establish the financial framework of the project by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to produce reliable estimates that guide decision-making and resource allocation.




Job Responsibilities



  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project components based on project specifications, drawings, and scope of work.
  • Analyze and evaluate proposals, taking into account material, labor, overhead costs, and potential risks.
  • Develop and maintain a database of cost information to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.
  • Review and verify estimates prepared by others, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and incorporate relevant factors into estimates.
  • Monitor market trends and prices to inform future estimating practices and decisions.
  • Participate in risk assessments to identify potential challenges that may impact project costs.
  • Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and participating in presentations.
  • Continuously improve estimating processes and methodologies for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.


Technical Skills



  • Proficient in estimating software and tools (e.g., Candy, Primavera, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Experience with financial modeling and cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and practices related to estimating.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings and specifications accurately.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to forecast costs accurately.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in estimating, preferably in Oi; & Gas projects.
