Job Description



In this function, Preservation Coordinator –is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring preservation activities to protect equipment, materials, and systems from deterioration during storage, construction, and pre‑commissioning phases. The role ensures preservation requirements are met in accordance with project specifications, OEM guidelines, and applicable standards by coordinating inspections, maintaining preservation records, managing storage conditions, and liaising with construction, quality, warehouse, and commissioning teams, ultimately safeguarding asset integrity, readiness for commissioning, and warranty compliance. for projects such as oil & gas facilities, pipelines, refineries, utilities, EPC projects, maintenance and industrial plants located in Majnoon.



Support and promote project HSSE requirements within preservation activities, storage and inspections.




QA/QC Preservation Coordinator reports to Site QA/QC Lead and has a reporting line to the Quality Assurance Discipline.




Roles and Responsibilities:




Develop and implement preservation plans for equipment, materials, and systems during storage, construction, commissioning, and handover phases. Define preservation requirements based on manufacturer instructions, project specifications, and industry standards. Prepare preservation procedures, checklists, and schedules aligned with project milestones. Coordinate long‑term or idle equipment preservation strategies.  Ensure preservation activities are carried out correctly and on schedule, including:



  • Mechanical preservation (lubrication, rotation, sealing, protection)
  • Electrical preservation (space heaters, insulation resistance testing)
  • Instrument preservation (plugging, nitrogen purging, calibration protection)

Verify application of temporary protection measures (caps, covers, coatings, desiccants). Monitor environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, corrosion risk). Conduct and coordinate routine preservation inspections. Ensure preservation activities comply with: Project specifications, Client requirements, OEM manuals, Applicable standards (ISO, API, NACE, etc., as applicable) Track non conformities related to preservation and ensure timely corrective actions. Participate in audits, surveillance activities, and client inspections. Maintain complete and accurate preservation records, including:



Inspection reports, Preservation logs, Checklists, Punch items related to preservation



Ensure documentation is traceable, controlled, and auditable. Provide regular preservation status reports (with a tracker) to project management and stakeholders. Coordinate preservation activities with Construction, Quality, Warehouse & logistics, Commissioning, Vendors and subcontractors Identify the types of materials best suited for the applications, order, and maintain stock levels Ensure proper storage conditions for materials and equipment (indoor/outdoor) such as Correct stacking and segregation, Identification and labeling Protection against damage, corrosion, contamination, and weather. Coordinate and monitor warehouse rotation plans for long‑stored equipment.




Skills and experience:




  • A minimum 10 years of equipment preservations experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
  • Mandatory Experience and Knowledge for:
    • Piping
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical / Instrument/Telecommunication/Fire & Gas Systems
    • ISO, API, NACE, IEC regulations, etc., as applicable

Educational experience:



  • Preferred Engineering degree in related mechanical/electrical field.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 10 years
  • Experience with equipment preservation at major projects
