Miraaya is a fast-growing, cruelty-free cosmetics e-commerce business based in Iraq, dedicated to delivering innovative, high-quality beauty products to a growing customer base across the region. As part of March Holding Group, a leading Iraqi conglomerate, Miraaya drives its ambitious expansion in both e-commerce and retail markets throughout Iraq. Our mission is to empower individuals through beauty, and we are seeking a visionary Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to accelerate our brand’s growth and market penetration.


Position overview 

 

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving Miraaya’s commercial strategy, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring operational excellence. The CCO will lead efforts to grow market share, targeting a an increase in market penetration within 3 years, oversee a team of content creators, set product strategy, and collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize operations. This role is hybrid, based in Baghdad, Iraq, with occasional travel for industry events and regional expansion initiatives, and requires a strategic thinker with a passion for beauty, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in e-commerce and retail.

 

Key Responsibilities

Brand Penetration and Growth:

 - Develop and execute strategies to increase brand visibility and achieve an increase in market share across e-commerce and retail channels in Iraq.

 - Identify new market opportunities and drive initiatives to expand Miraaya’s customer reach within Iraq and potentially neighboring markets.

 - Oversee marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness and customer engagement, tailored to Iraqi consumer preferences.



Team Leadership:

 - Manage and inspire a team of content creators to produce engaging social media campaigns, influencer partnerships, and e-commerce visuals that resonate with Iraqi and regional audiences.

 - Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, setting clear goals and performance metrics.

Product Strategy:

 - Define and implement the product strategy, aligning with market trends, Iraqi consumer needs, and Miraaya’s brand vision.

 - Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to innovate and launch new cosmetics products suitable for the Iraqi market.

 - Monitor competitor activities and market trends to ensure a competitive product portfolio.

Operational Collaboration:

 - Partner with procurement and supply chain teams, to ensure efficient inventory management, cost optimization, and timely product delivery.

 - Streamline commercial operations to support seamless e-commerce and retail experiences in Iraq.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

 - Drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships, retail expansion in Iraqi cities, and e-commerce optimization.

 - Develop and lead B2B sales strategies to establish partnerships with distributors, salons, and beauty retailers across Iraq, ensuring Miraaya products are prominently featured in key accounts.

 - Oversee sales operations for Miraaya’s retail shops, including managing in-store sales teams, optimizing product placement, and driving foot traffic through localized promotions.

 - Develop pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness in Iraq’s dynamic economy.


Cross-Functional Leadership:

 - Work closely with the CEO, CFO, and other executives within Miraaya and March Holding Group to align commercial strategies with overall business objectives.

 - Represent Miraaya in industry events, partnerships, and negotiations with key stakeholders in Iraq and beyond.


Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

- 10+ years of experience in commercial leadership roles, preferably in the cosmetics, beauty, or consumer goods industry, with experience in e-commerce and retail.

- Proven success in growing brand penetration and driving revenue in competitive markets, ideally in the Middle East or Iraq, with specific experience in B2B and retail sales.

- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate creative teams, including content creators, and sales teams in retail and B2B contexts.

- Deep understanding of product strategy, market trends, and consumer behavior in the beauty industry, particularly in Iraq.

- Experience collaborating with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize operations.

- Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills, with cultural sensitivity to the Iraqi market.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
