Job Overview


We are seeking an innovative and highly skilled AI Engineer to join our HR Technology team. This role will design, build, and maintain AI-driven solutions that enhance employee experience, streamline HR processes, and expand our HR Technology roadmap using Microsoft Copilot, Workday data, and other enterprise AI platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in AI/ML, natural language processing, and automation, with a passion for applying emerging technologies within HR. You will collaborate with HR, Workday Functional Leads, HR Shared Services, Security, and cross-functional business teams to design secure, scalable, compliant, and high-impact AI solutions.


Key Responsibilities


AI & Copilot Development


• Develop and deploy Copilot Extensions, Plugins, AI Agents, and workflows that leverage HR and Workday data.


• Build secure, governed prompts and knowledge bases for HR use cases (policies, processes, onboarding, talent management, knowledge articles).


• Create AI-enabled automation to support Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Compensation, and HR Operations. HR Analytics & Natural Language Processing


• Implement HR focused NLP models for tasks such as summarization, classification, data extraction, Q&A, and document generation.


• Develop chatbots and conversational interfaces integrated with HR data sources. • Apply machine learning techniques to enhance predictions and insights in areas like attrition risk, workforce planning, and employee sentiment. Systems Integration & Data Engineering


• Integrate AI tools with Workday, document repositories, HR knowledge content, and enterprise data systems.


• Collaborate with Workday Integrations team on creating secure APIs, custom reports, and data pipelines required for AI workloads.


• Ensure all AI solutions follow SOX, ITGC, GDPR, and internal governance standards. Solution Architecture & Governance


• Partner with HR leaders to identify opportunities for AI innovation and automate manual processes.


• Participate in AI governance committees and support the development of ethical AI frameworks for HR.


• Document technical designs, workflows, and solution architectures following HR Technology standards. Support & Continuous Improvement


• Troubleshoot production issues with AI workflows, plugins, and Copilot integrations.


• Monitor model performance and user adoption; implement improvements and training as needed.


• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, Microsoft Copilot updates, and Workday AI capabilities.


Required Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field.


• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML, NLP, data engineering, or software engineering.


• Proficiency with Python, Azure AI Services, OpenAI/Microsoft models, or similar frameworks.


• Experience building AI agents, chatbots, or generative AI features.


• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and Workday integration patterns.


• Ability to translate HR business needs into scalable technical solutions.


Preferred Qualifications


• Experience working with Workday (HCM, Reporting, Integrations, Extend, or Prism Analytics).


• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem: Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure OpenAI, Graph connectors.


• Hands-on experience with machine learning models for summarization, classification, and semantic search.


• Experience working in regulated environments with sensitive HR data.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across HR, IT, Security, and business teams.
