Job description

HackerRank helps companies like NVIDIA, Amazon, and Microsoft hire and upskill the next generation of developers based on skills, not pedigree. Our platform is trusted by over 2,500 of the world’s most innovative companies to build strong engineering teams ready for what’s next.
Software has entered an era where humans and AI build side by side. As this shift accelerates, the definition of strong technical talent is changing. We give companies better ways to identify and invest in next-generation skills.
People at HackerRank care deeply about the impact of their work and sweat the small details so our customers can be wildly successful with products they genuinely love to use. We move with urgency and believe great outcomes come from high standards

About the role

HackerRank's Content Studio is building a production function that moves at the speed of ideas. As our Video Editor, you'll own the full post-production process across formats and platforms, from LinkedIn clips and YouTube explainers to event highlights and executive content. This is not a support role. You'll be a creative decision-maker who ships finished work, uses AI tools to compress timelines, and raises the bar on what in-house video can look and feel like.

What you’ll do
  • Edit across formats, including short-form social, long-form YouTube, event recaps, and product content, adapting pacing and energy for each platform without a separate brief
  • Work directly from raw footage, rough briefs, or messy transcripts and make confident creative calls without needing hand-holding
  • Use AI-powered tools (Runway, Descript, Kapwing, Remotion, or equivalents) to reduce turnaround time while maintaining quality
  • Operate in our Bangalore studio with real gear: hi fidelity cameras, VP screen, and broadcast-grade audio
  • Turn around same-day cuts, respond to async feedback, and move through iterative review cycles without losing momentum
  • Build and maintain a library of reusable templates, motion elements, and brand-consistent MOGRT assets that reduce repeat effort
  • Manage and brief external editors when volume demands it, maintaining quality and consistency across everything that ships
  • Collaborate closely with the Studio Production Manager, Product teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align on goals before the first frame is cut
Who you are
  • You think in stories first and timelines second. The edit is a creative act, not a technical one, for you
  • You're fluent in at least one major NLE (Premiere, DaVinci, CapCut) and know your way around the AI tools that are reshaping post-production and have done this for 2+ years without getting bored.
  • You understand what makes content work on LinkedIn, YouTube, and short-form platforms, and you make format-specific decisions instinctively
  • You work well in tight feedback loops. Iterative cuts, last-minute changes, and async reviewer comments don't break your rhythm
  • You take ownership. If something isn't landing, you flag it and propose a fix rather than waiting to be redirected
  • You communicate clearly with non-editors. You can explain a creative choice without jargon and take direction without losing your point of view
  • You're organized under pressure. Multiple projects, overlapping deadlines, shifting priorities: you have a system and you use it
Even better if you have
  • Light motion graphics or basic animation skills that reduce dependency on external studios
  • Experience shooting or editing executive or thought leadership content, where the story lives in the subtlety
  • Familiarity with Remotion, Claude Code, or other programmatic video tools that push beyond traditional editing workflows
You will thrive in this role if
  • You'd rather ship a good cut today than wait for a perfect brief tomorrow
  • You see AI tools as a creative accelerator, not a shortcut or a threat
  • You find energy in a fast-moving, small team where your output is visible and your decisions actually matter
