Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in rail and highway design, particularly alignment design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with a focus on transportation infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of transportation systems in India.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed track design plans for rail and transit projects, considering factors such as alignment, curvatures, elevation and grading. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensue track design aligns with overall project goals and specifications.
2. Conduct feasibility studies and assess the viability of transportation projects.
3. Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for rail and highway alignment design, considering factors such as terrain, environmental impact, and safety regulations.
4. Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for transportation infrastructure projects, including alignment layouts, cross-sections, and grading plans.
5. Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and government agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits for project implementation.
6. Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers and design staff to ensure project deliverables meet client requirements and industry standards.
7. Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and simulations to optimize transportation designs and identify potential risks or challenges.
8. Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to address project requirements and resolve technical issues.
9. Stay updated on advancements in transportation engineering technology, materials, and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
10. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing transportation infrastructure projects in India.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and Master's degree in transportation engineering or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on rail and highway design.
3. Proven expertise in track and alignment design, including horizontal and vertical alignment optimization.
4. Strong proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and/or Bentley Rail Track.
5. Familiarity with Indian transportation regulations, standards, and practices.
6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
