Your future role
A. Section 232 Compliance (Steel/Aluminum)
• Request and validate melt/pour countries, steel/aluminum value, weight, and mill certificates for imported parts.
• Update part‑level 232 master data and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Support proactive and retrospective data collection for high‑value or CBP‑sensitive shipments.
B. USMCA & Other FTA Compliance
• Request, validate, and archive certificates of origin (USMCA and other applicable FTAs).
• Coach suppliers on origin‑qualification rules and documentation standards.
• Track expiries, missing documentation, and supplier coverage.
C. UFLPA Supply‑Chain Tracing & Detention Support
• Collect and validate chain‑of‑custody documentation, including invoices, bills of lading/airway bills, payment records, company profiles, and production records.
• Build and maintain product passports in Altana with suppliers.
• Perform documentation quality checks during CBP detentions and identify high‑risk suppliers/materials.
D. Customs Master Data & Altana Product Passport Support
• Populate HTS classification, country of origin, and customs attributes for ~4,000–5,000 imported materials.
• Onboard suppliers into Altana and manage master‑data workflows, closing gaps using Altana validation tools.
E. Supplier Engagement & Reporting (Weekly Cadence)
• Drive structured follow‑ups for 232, UFLPA, and FTA documentation.
• Maintain weekly supplier‑response trackers, aging dashboards, and risk‑flagging.
• Prepare complete detention cases with checklists and gap‑remediation actions.
3. Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills — Must Have
• Working knowledge of trade compliance, import/export control, and customs processes (US/Canada focus an advantage).
• Experience with HTS classification, origin determination, and customs valuation; comfortable auditing documentation.
• ERP proficiency: SAP/GTS; strong Excel/BI skills.
• Proven supplier engagement for data/document collection.
Soft Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication for day‑to‑day supplier interaction.
• Detail‑oriented with disciplined follow‑up; structured and analytical.
• Comfortable working across time zones with cross‑regional teams.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, International Business, or related field.
• 3–6 years of trade‑compliance or import/export operations experience preferred.
