THIS IS YOUR ROLE This role requires a blend of technical expertise, familiarity with testing software, and strong communication skills to guide clients through the verification process. 1. Technical Expertise Protection Relays Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of protection functions (e.g., O/C, E/F, Distance, Differential) and their applications. In-depth understanding of protection schemes and relay functionality. Programming and Testing of Protection relays, SDA & Automation Products (Experience with SIEMENS make is added advantage) Test Equipment Proficiency: Competence in using specialized, calibrated testing equipment, such as Omicron Test Universe or similar test kits Secondary Injection Testing: Ability to perform injection testing to simulate faults and verify tripping behaviour. Ability to read and interpret Approved for Construction (AFC) schematics, wiring diagrams, and relay configuration files. Knowledge of loop testing (signals reaching PLC/HMI), checking interlocking, and validating alarms Technical Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and verify as-built electrical, wiring, and logic drawings. Relay Configuration & Settings: Experience in checking relay settings, logic sequences, communication protocols, and input/output configurations against project specifications. Standards Familiarity: Understanding of IEC or ANSI standards governing relay testing 2. FAT Procedures and Documentation Procedure Adherence: Preparation of FAT protocols, QAP, Automated Test Reports, compiling the final FAT Report Documentation Skills: Ability to document, log, and review test results for accuracy. Report Generation: Summarizing the FAT results into a final report for Customer acceptance 3. Communication and Inspection Skills Ability to clearly explain technical procedures to Customers and third-party inspectors. Systematic Inspection: Conducting thorough visual inspections of Protection Relays, SDA and Automation Products Functional Testing: Executing functional tests to verify that the system operates properly (e.g., tripping, alarms). Third-Party Coordination: Ability to work with third-party inspection agencies when required Conducting Factory acceptance test with Customers for all types of Protection Relays & Automation products of Siemens make, Getting the FAT report signed off by the client Good communication, coordination and strong customer handling and managing skills Key Requirements: B.E. / Diploma in Electrical Engineering 8+ years of experience in Protection Relays and Automation Strong knowledge of protection schemes: O/C, E/F, Distance, Differential Hands-on experience with Omicron Test Universe or equivalent testing tools Familiarity with IEC / ANSI standards Experience with Siemens protection relays and automation products is preferred Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics Soft Skills: Strong communication and customer handling skills Good coordination and stakeholder management ability Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to testing and documentation WE DON'T NEED SUPERHEROES, JUST SUPER MINDS!
