Test Engineer

You’ll be working with the Testing & Validation team.
This team focuses on building robust End of Line (EOL) and Functional Testing systems for EV Battery Packs and Rapid Chargers.
The team is responsible for ensuring quality, reliability, repeatability, and performance of critical electrical and electronic systems before they reach customers.

What you will do In this role, you will own the End of Line (EOL) and Functional Testing of EV Battery Packs and Rapid Chargers.
You will work closely with Design, System Integration and Manufacturing teams to develop effective test strategies and build test infrastructure that ensures consistent quality in production.

Co-founded by Arun Vinayak (Ather Energy's Founding Partner & Former Chief Product Officer) and Sanjay Byalal (Former hardware strategic sourcing and cell strategy lead, Ather and Former Supply Chain Lead, HUL), Exponent focuses on solving two sides of the energy problem by building the e^pump (charging station) and e^pack (battery pack) which together unlock 15-min rapid charging The 200+ strong team has tons of EV experience and is in the process of hiring more professionals to build & scale Exponent as one of the best EV Energy Companies out of India   • Develop EOL and Functional Testing strategy for EV battery packs and rapid DC charging systems • Define and write detailed test specifications, test plans and acceptance criteria • Design, support and maintain Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and HIL (Hardware-In-the-Loop) environments • Identify test methodologies, instruments and validation techniques for electrical and electro-mechanical systems • Work with system integrators to develop, install and validate test rigs and fixtures • Use tools such as NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand and related platforms to support test automation • Perform debugging, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of failures during EOL testing • Analyze test data and provide actionable feedback to design and manufacturing teams • Improve test process cycle time, accuracy, robustness and repeatability • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate requires • 4–6 years of hands-on experience in EOL / Functional Testing of electrical or electromechanical systems • Strong knowledge of electrical fundamentals, power electronics, rectifiers and power supplies • Hands-on experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) • Experience in HIL test environments • Proficiency in NI LabVIEW and/or NI TestStand • Experience with protocols: CAN, CAN-FD, SocketCAN, UDS, OBD-II, I2C, SPI • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work cross-functionally with Design, System Integration and Manufacturing teams What matters • Structured, data-driven approach to problem solving • Detail-oriented mindset with high ownership • Strong communication and documentation skills • High collaboration and team orientation • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
