The Waste Management Technician is responsible for the collection, segregation, handling, and disposal of waste in compliance with environmental regulations and organizational policies. The role ensures cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainable waste management practices within the facility.
Collect, segregate, and store waste as per prescribed guidelines (wet, dry, recyclable, hazardous, e-waste).
Operate and maintain waste management equipment such as compactors, balers, shredders, and composting units (if applicable).
Monitor waste generation and report deviations or issues.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous and biomedical waste (if applicable) as per statutory norms.
Maintain cleanliness of waste collection areas, bins, and storage rooms.
Coordinate with waste collection agencies and recyclers for timely pickup and disposal.
Maintain daily records, logs, and manifests related to waste handling.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines.
Assist in awareness programs for occupants on waste segregation and sustainability practices.
Attend emergency spill situations and take immediate corrective action.
