Summary Section 



Fired Heater / Furnace Analytical Engineer will be responsible for heat and material balance, thermal and hydraulic calculations for fired heaters using software such as PFR-FRNC-5 and Co proprietary design programs to support Company core technologies in proprietary furnace designs in Refining, Petrochemical and Fertilizer industry.



Responsibilities:



Fired Heater / Furnace Analytical Engineer will be responsible for heat and material balance, thermal and hydraulic calculations for fired heaters using software such as PFR-FRNC-5 and Co proprietary design programs to support Company core technologies in proprietary furnace designs in Refining, Petrochemical and Fertilizer industry.




The position requires understanding and knowledge of basic heat transfer concepts applicable such as fuel & efficiency calculations, radiant / convection section sizing, metal temperature evaluation, refractory selection and heat loss, hydraulic calculations such as coil pressure drop, stack / duct sizing. Must have experience in the thermal and process design and performance evaluation of furnace including heat transfer, hydraulics, and knowledge of various types, parts / components of a direct fired heater, their uses and important heater auxiliaries, burners, ID/FD Fans & Air Preheaters. Candidate also should have understanding of process flow diagram, piping and instrument diagram, system design parameters and design. Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME I / VIII and API specifications, API 560, API 535, API 556 and API 560 is must. Working experience of Ethylene furnaces and Hydrogen reformer furnaces will be added advantage.



Candidate is responsible for generation of project documents such as datasheets for furnace and component equipment. Position may require travel to vendor shops and operating plants that may involve furnace performance testing and data gathering.



Qualifications including Required Education, Experience, & Skills:



  • Desired Qualification - B. Tech / M. Tech in Chemical Engineering
  • Years of Experience: - 3 – 5 years.
