Job description

If you’re excited about solving deep technical challenges and building innovative software that directly influences how Amazon Now Dark Stores and fulfillment centers are designed and launched from the ground up, this could be a the role for you. You’ll join a team being built from scratch in Bengaluru—offering a rare opportunity to be an early member and help shape how we operate, innovate, and scale.
The Team
Within Amazon Robotics’ Operations Infrastructure Services (OIS) organization, the Customer Experience Infrastructure (CXI) team delivers region-specific, customer-centric solutions focused on cost optimization, operational transparency, process simplification, and lifecycle management. Our mission is to reduce the cost and time required to build and operate the Tech infra in Amazon fulfillment centers, Whole Foods stores, and quick commerce stores.
Key job responsibilities
Everyone on our team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more startup than big company. We’re solving problems that will help you develop expertise across multiple domains including: Amazon dark store and fulfillment center supply chain systems, Warehouse management solution, Network infra, End-user equipment, Machine Learning, and Distributed Systems.
Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and scaling, implementing the fix for internally developed code, performing SQL queries, updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges. Responsibilities also include working alongside development on team's software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automation of support processes and documentation of our systems.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in full-stack software development — including backend and frontend engineering with Java, Python, React, and AWS — along with hands-on experience across the full delivery lifecycle: deployment, testing, documentation, and operations.
In this role, you will partner closely with business and technical teams to analyze complex, non-standard problems and apply creative problem-solving to rapidly prototype solutions and deliver production-grade software.
You are a self-starter who thrives under ambiguity, thinks big, and brings both creativity and rigorous attention to detail. You are energized by fast-paced, dynamic environments and can manage competing priorities independently while maintaining a high bar for quality under pressure. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a plus.
A day in the life
Our team follows the Agile development methodology. Team members(SDEs/PMT/TPM) participate in daily stand-ups and bi-weekly sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions. You will write code for both user-facing APIs and backend services that need to be fault-tolerant and low-latency. You will participate in proposal reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and collaborate with other teams within Customer Experience Infra Org on integration solutions. We conduct annual program planning and quarterly prioritization meetings to align tasks with organizational goals. Developers, Program Management (PM) team, and Single-Threaded Owners (STOs) collaborate to define and execute these tasks.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience building services using AWS products
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Knowledge of a front-end language (Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc.)
- Knowledge of database systems and SQL
