From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Application Design Engineer in Bangalore we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical and managerial expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

You'll play a key role in delivering on-time system design baselines with the desired scope and quality. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Application Design Team, System Specification Team, PrSAA, PrEM), communicate with stakeholders such as the Project Solution Architect, Verification Leader, System Engineer, and Design Leader, and ensure adherence to Alstom’s engineering processes with zero deviations.

You’ll specifically take care of delivering application design outputs such as SyNR, SyCR, RTI, SyDT, SyAP, Scheme Plans, and System Databases, but also analyze verification reports, track survey measurements, and other T&C blocking CRs on application design.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Ensuring all application design deliveries meet the desired quality with minimum or zero defects

  • Maintaining on-time delivery (OTD) with high-quality standards

  • Managing internal activity plans and completing tasks within allocated budgets

  • Conducting quality reviews for each delivery

  • Analyzing verification reports and FIVP CRs

  • Designing and configuring field devices to meet signaling layout requirements

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering

  • 5-10 years of experience in the rail signaling domain

  • Experience completing at least one design cycle for a signaling project

  • Clear understanding of signal engineering processes

  • Proficiency in designing interlocking schemes, aspect charts/bit charts, and signaling interface plans

  • Ability to select and size field devices for signaling layouts

  • Experience in subsystem interfaces such as IXL/ATC/ATS

  • Agile, inclusive, and responsible mindset with strong communication skills (English – read and write)

  • Proficiency in signaling design, CBTC knowledge, and MS Office

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and CAD software

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signaling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards leadership or specialized technical roles

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
