As a System Administrator within .Monks, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and ongoing operation of computer systems and cloud platforms. Working as part of the SysOps IT team, your observations and input will help drive the evolution of tech administration within our company as we look to establish stronger policies, more security, better organization, and enhanced efficiency. As the IT, and especially AI, needs of the company continue to grow, you will have the opportunity to learn new technologies and propose projects. Automating IT tasks will be a focus. 


This role is well-suited for those who are self-sufficient, dependable, looking for new challenges, and are interested in expanding their skillset.


This is a primarily remote role, with infrequent, pre-arranged onsite tasks at our Noida or Gurugram offices.


Responsibilities will include: 

Atlassian Platform Stewardship (Primary Focus)


  • Operational Oversight: Serve as the primary administrator for the Atlassian Organization, with a heavy focus on Jira Software, Confluence, and Tempo (Timesheets & Planner).
  • System Hygiene & Cleanup: Lead regular "environmental audits" to identify and archive stale projects, unused custom fields, and redundant schemes. You will ensure that Jira remains performant and easy to navigate for all users.
  • Tempo Administration: Manage Tempo configurations, including worklog attributes, period locking, and team structures to ensure accurate time tracking and reporting.
  • Financial Optimization: Take a lead role in Atlassian license renewals. Monitor seat utilization, identify inactive accounts, and optimize tiering to ensure we are only paying for what we use.
  • Platform Awareness: Stay ahead of Atlassian’s rapid release cycle. Be the first to know about upcoming changes, assess their impact on our apps (especially Tempo), and communicate updates to the business.

Regional SaaS & MDM Escalation


  • Regional Support: Act as the primary escalation path during local office hours for tools managed by the global team (including Slack, Google Workspace, Jamf, and Intune).
  • Tier 2/3 Resolution: Resolve complex technical issues that standard IT support cannot handle, ensuring seamless operation for the local team before the global admins come online.

ISO 27001 Compliance & Audit


  • Audit Readiness: Help prepare the IT environment for ISO 27001 audits by maintaining strict access controls and change management records.
  • Evidence Collection: Be an active participant in audit interviews, providing "point-in-time" evidence such as access logs, termination of access reports, and proof of system patching.
Background Sought: 
  • Experience in admin consoles of modern platforms; ideal technical knowledge includes administration experience with some of the following:
    • Cloud-Based Business Platforms: Google Workspace, Slack Enterprise Grid, Microsoft365/Azure with a strong focus on Atlassian Org Administration..
    • OS: Windows server, Linux
    • Networking Hardware: Fortinet, Ubiquiti
    • Identity & Endpoint Management with OneLogin, Jamf, Intune, and A1.
    • Bonus points for experience with automation or APIs
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Experience running audits/reports and presenting findings.
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language
  • Exhibits patience and resilience under pressure
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Self-sufficient, proactive, and ready for a challenge
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Typically 2–5+ years in systems administration or a similar operational role.
