This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 300000 - Rs 600000 (ie INR 3 - 6 LPA) Min Experience: 3 years Location: Chennai JobType: full-time We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Designer to join our engineering team at Supreme Power.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can transform technical requirements into efficient, compliant, and high-quality electrical designs.
You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, layouts, and drawings using industry-standard design tools.
Prepare single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
Design and optimize electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, lighting, and grounding.
Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment sizing.
Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather design inputs and resolve technical queries.
Review and revise designs based on feedback, site conditions, and project requirements.
Support project execution by providing technical documentation and addressing design-related issues.
Maintain proper documentation and version control of all design files.
Participate in site visits when required for design validation and troubleshooting.
Required Skills & Competencies: Strong proficiency in electrical design principles and methodologies.
Hands-on experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar software.
In-depth understanding of electrical systems including LT/HT panels, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documents.
Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, IS codes, and safety regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience in power generation, transmission, distribution, or industrial projects.
Familiarity with PLC systems, SCADA, and automation design is an added advantage.
Exposure to renewable energy projects (solar, wind) is a plus.
