Job description

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

our future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your **packaging design and supply chain** expertise in a cutting-edge, innovative field. You’ll work alongside **collaborative and forward-thinking** teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient, sustainable, and high-quality packaging solutions that align with global standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including Material Planning, Project Supply Chain Leaders, and Warehouse teams), collaborate with external partners such as suppliers and logistics providers, and contribute to optimizing supply chain processes and solutions.

You’ll specifically take care of **designing internal and external packaging** using advanced tools, but also **leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance supply chain processes**.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Designing internal and external packaging using tools such as Catia, PLM4A, SolidWorks, or equivalent software

  • Driving discussions with stakeholders to define delivery types, logistics flows, and achieving cross-functional team sign-offs

  • Developing packaging concepts that meet global standards and quality requirements

  • Performing load tests, FEA analysis, and ensuring compatibility with optimized packaging standards

  • Coordinating supplier BOM details, specifications sign-offs, and integrating global sourcing

  • Creating and implementing visual labels and PPE storage plans in compliance with EHS rules

  • Conducting training sessions for operators and warehouse teams

  • Defining and implementing supply chain processes aligned with industrial and production requirements

  • Driving cost-reduction, process-improvement, and optimization initiatives to foster continuous improvement

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

  • Experience or understanding of packaging design and logistics flows

  • Knowledge of tools such as Catia, PLM4A, or SolidWorks

  • Familiarity with global packaging standards and EHS compliance

  • A certification in logistics, supply chain, or packaging engineering

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Ability to drive process improvements and cost-optimization initiatives

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with cutting-edge tools and global packaging standards

  • Collaborate with diverse and supportive teams across functions

  • Contribute to innovative and impactful projects

  • Utilise our inclusive and flexible working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning programs

  • Progress towards leadership roles in supply chain or engineering

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
