Supplier Development Manager

About Company:

One of the American manufacturers of backup power generation products for residential, light commercial and industrial markets.

An Ideal Candidate:

 The Supplier Development Manager will be responsible for managing both the advanced and current supplier development functions. The Supplier Development Manager will support the supplier quality activities, Engineering and Global Sourcing teams, will work with suppliers to develop key new products from inception to PPAP stage.

Key Competencies:

1. New Product Introduction (NPI) & Production Support
2. Lead supplier development activities supporting new product introduction across components and purchased finished goods, including project planning, cross-functional coordination, resource deployment, and delivery of supplier reports and assessments.
3. Monitor, analyze, and leverage quality performance data to proactively improve customer satisfaction and mitigate business risk.
4. Support global sourcing initiatives by conducting supplier assessments, participating in design reviews, identifying critical component characteristics, and executing PPAP requirements.
5. Own and resolve escalated supplier quality issues with significant commercial or customer impact by driving timely root cause analysis and corrective actions.
6. Quality System Improvement & Supplier Value Initiatives
7. Lead supplier-focused quality system improvement efforts that increase maturity and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
8. Conduct internal and external quality system audits with an emphasis on continuous improvement and risk reduction.
9. Partner with Corporate Quality, Strategic Global Sourcing, and Engineering to identify gaps in the quality management system and drive sustainable corrective actions.
10. Design and implement system-level improvements that elevate global supplier quality performance and strengthen overall quality governance.
