We are looking for a Staff Engineer to design and build host‑side system tools, drivers and services that interface with SoCs across the full product lifecycle—bring‑up, flashing, debugging, diagnostics, development and production tests.

The role requires strong systems programming experience using C, Modern C++ solid grasp of memory management, threads, concurrency management, synchronization, lock‑free queues and asynchronous I/O. Proficient in Modern C++, STL and Complex design patterns. Experience with compiler and linker toolchains such as GCC/LLVM/Clang, optimize standard function/libraries targeted for the RISC-V or Cortex-M ARM or other similar embedded architectures, and well versed with assembly instructions. Worked on debuggers for embedded targets (RISC-V or Cortex-M ARM or similar) with in-depth knowledge of target specific Instruction Sets and has worked on tools/libraries that enable seamless debugging of these platforms over multiple transports/protocols.




Right candidate shall be required to be adept with relevant updates on complier toolchains and libraries support across various releases. Candidate will require to familiarize themselves with existing code deployed on earlier variants of the chip and further enhance or fix customer reported issues around the platform. Candidate would also be responsible for investigating, analysing and fixing defects related to compilers/linkers and resolving complex issues.





Key Responsibilities:



  • Design and develop robust host‑side device drivers, services, daemons, and utilities that interface with SoCs
  • Ensure tools are cross‑platform, supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS
  • Debug and resolve complex issues across:
    • communication and transport stacks
    • memory, concurrency, and performance
    • host–target interaction
  • Lead development of cross‑compiled tools and host‑side debugging workflows
  • Drive architecture, design documentation, and technical reviews
  • Enforce secure coding practices, code quality, and scalable development workflows
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, validation, and manufacturing teams
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the tools team

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical/Electronics, or related field
  • 6–9 years of experience building complex, production‑grade system software
  • Expert‑level proficiency in C and Modern C++ (11/14/17) advanced features, including:
    • STL and object‑oriented design
    • data structures and algorithms
  • Deep understanding of Linux and Windows OS internals, including:
    • multithreading and synchronization
    • IPC mechanisms and service/daemon models
    • security, permissions, and process lifecycle
  • Proven experience owning or leading host‑side tools for debugging, flashing, diagnostics, or test infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of SoC and microcontroller architectures and host‑to‑target interaction models
  • Hands‑on experience with embedded toolchains, cross‑compilation, and low‑level debugging
  • Minimum 2+ years of expertise in toolchain development for compiler, loaders linker (MSVC/LLVM/GCC) and is familiar with internals of (ELF, relocation, symbol versioning, memory mapping).
  • Familiarity with Assembly programming.

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills



  • Experience building device bring‑up, firmware update, and production test tools
  • Familiarity with USB host stacks and drivers on Windows/Linux
  • Experience with factory, production, or field test frameworks
  • Strong working knowledge of CLI tools, automation frameworks, and scripting interfaces
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or similar scripting languages for automation and tooling
  • Experience with Git / GitHub / GitLab / Perforce in large, multi‑repository environments
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for host tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar)
  • Experience with installer creation, packaging, and deployment for host‑side tools
  • Good to have familiarity with ARM SOC architecture understanding of ARM assembly programming and debugging.
  • Deep understanding and experience of Operating System concepts, Linux Kernel, Linux Device Drivers

Minimum Qualifications:



• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
