Job Summary
The Sr Staff Architect, Software serves as a senior technical authority responsible for the architecture, design, customization, integration, and operational stability of a global SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) platform supporting enterprise-wide customer relationship management processes. This role requires deep, specialized knowledge of SAP cloud technologies, enterprise software architecture, and complex system integrations. The position involves advanced technical decision-making, system design governance, and long-term platform strategy and requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specialized technical field.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as a senior staff architect for the SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) platform, defining solution architecture, technical standards, and best practices for a global enterprise implementation.
- Lead and develop a small team with mixed skills, providing direction and fostering technical excellence across diverse competencies.
- Mentor and develop team members, building their technical capabilities and supporting their professional growth within the SAP C4C ecosystem.
- Coordinate cross-functional team activities, ensuring alignment between technical teams, business stakeholders, and IT functions.
- Provide leadership in architectural reviews and design sessions, guiding technical decision-making and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Design complex SAP C4C customizations and extensions using SAP Cloud Application Studio (SDK), including custom business objects, workflows, scripts (ABSL), and UI adaptations.
- Architect and oversee integrations between SAP C4C and other enterprise systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP CPI, and third-party applications using REST, SOAP, OData services, and middleware technologies.
- Evaluate business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and high-performance technical designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of highly complex production issues involving SAP C4C custom developments, integrations, and data flows.
- Provide architectural oversight for SAP C4C releases, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring continuity of custom developments and integrations.
- Collaborate with global IT teams, functional leads, and business stakeholders to align SAP C4C architecture with enterprise CRM and digital transformation strategies.
- Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures for the SAP C4C platform.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Experience Level
- Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise software development, SAP CRM/C4C solutions, or related SAP cloud technologies.
- Demonstrated long-term involvement in the design, support, and evolution of a mission-critical enterprise system.
- Proven experience in team leadership with responsibility for managing direct reports.
Technical Qualifications
- Advanced, expert-level knowledge of SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) architecture, configuration, and extensibility.
- Strong expertise in enterprise system integration, including SAP CPI, REST/SOAP APIs, OData services, and cloud integration patterns.
- Deep understanding of enterprise CRM business processes, including sales, service, customer master data, and customer engagement workflows.
- Experience architecting and supporting global, multi-region SAP environments with complex business and technical requirements.
- Ability to independently design and evaluate software architecture solutions requiring advanced theoretical and practical knowledge.
