Key Responsibilities



  • Work on mechanical design optimization of pumps, motors, and rotating components with focus on value improvement
  • Support design‑to‑cost initiatives during New Product Development (NPD) and product upgrades
  • Perform BOM analysis to identify cost drivers and design improvement opportunities
  • Propose design alternatives, material substitutions, and part standardization concepts that maintain performance and reliability
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency
  • Support supplier technical evaluations and feasibility discussions from a design perspective
  • Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Support engineering change management (ECR/ECO) and validation activities
  • Participate in cross‑functional VAVE workshops and design reviews
  • Prepare optimized design concepts, validate that, analyze FEA reports.
  • Prepare Business Cases, evaluate financial feasibility.

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles with exposure to:
    • Mechanical Design Engineering OR
    • Pump design, rotating equipment, or fluid handling systems
    • New Product Development (NPD) or product engineering
  • Basic understanding of Value Analysis / Value Engineering principles

Required Technical Skills



  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and machine elements
  • Understanding of pump components, rotating parts, and fluid handling systems
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo / SolidWorks / AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: casting, machining, fabrication, assembly
  • Basic understanding of materials used in pump and water applications
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawings
  • Awareness of DFM/DFA and design optimization concepts

  • SAVE certification
  • Awareness of VAVE, Design-to-Cost, or Cost Reduction methodologies
  • Exposure to DFMEA / PFMEA or Six Sigma concepts (preferred)
  • Experience or familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Teamcenter, Windchill)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global teams
