Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise to make the digital world more inclusive? Join us as we ensure our global digital presence is accessible to everyone.
As the Website Accessibility Analyst, you will be the technical subject matter expert responsible for executing hands-on accessibility evaluations of Colgate-Palmolive’s websites. While the Coordinator manages the schedule, you will perform the deep-dive assessments, combining automated scanning with critical manual testing using assistive technologies. You will work closely with the "Website Accessibility Coordinator" and the CP Website Accessibility Center of Excellence to identify barriers, document compliance issues, and provide actionable remediation guidance to development teams.
As our Website Accessibility Analyst you will be responsible for:
Hands-On Accessibility Assessments: Conduct comprehensive audits of C-P websites and digital assets against WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards. You will analyze web pages to identify accessibility violations that automated tools cannot catch.
Assistive Technology Testing: Perform manual functional testing using leading screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation to simulate the experience of users with disabilities.
Automated Tooling: Utilize automated accessibility testing platforms—specifically AQA by UsableNet—to run scans, interpret results, and filter false positives.
Remediation Guidance: Translate audit findings into clear, technical instructions for developers. You will provide code-level recommendations (HTML, CSS, WAI-ARIA) to help teams fix identified defects.
Reporting & Documentation: accurately document bugs and compliance issues in JIRA, assigning appropriate severity levels and linking to relevant WCAG success criteria.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest accessibility trends, browser updates, and assistive technology versions to ensure our testing methodology remains cutting-edge.
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, WAI-ARIA) and how they impact accessibility - 3 years experience.
Empathy & User-Centric Mindset: A genuine passion for digital inclusion and understanding of how people with disabilities interact with the web.
Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to look at a broken web element and determine not just that it is broken, but why it fails compliance and how to fix it.
Communication Skills: Able to explain complex technical accessibility concepts to developers and non-technical stakeholders alike.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous in documenting bugs to ensure reproducible and clear tickets for product teams.
Team Collaboration: Comfortable working alongside the Website Accessibility Coordinator to meet assessment deadlines and project milestones.
3 years of hands-on experience in Digital Accessibility Testing or Front-End Development with a focus on accessibility - MUST.
Demonstrated experience with Automated Testing Tools, specifically AQA by UsableNet (or similar enterprise-grade accessibility platforms) - MUST.
Hands-on proficiency with Assistive Technology, specifically Screen Readers (JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver) - MUST.
Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines and success criteria.
Experience with project tracking and ticketing systems like JIRA.
Knowledge of mobile web accessibility (iOS and Android) is a plus.
Curiosity: A desire to dig deep into code to find the root cause of accessibility errors.
Patience & Persistence: Testing requires repetitive actions and thoroughness; you must be comfortable validating fixes and re-testing until compliance is achieved.
Time Management: Ability to manage assessments for multiple websites simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
