Solution Architecture - Application Lead

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural governance and support for the ServiceNow platform, ensuring detailed designs align with broader enterprise architecture.

  
  
  

• Identify and resolve architectural discrepancies between strategic goals and vendor solution implementations.

  
  
  

• Design and document reference architectures, design patterns, and data integration flows.

  
  
  

• Conduct gap analysis and technical evaluations comparing requested functionality against Out of The Box (OOTB) ServiceNow capabilities.

  
  
  

• Advise development teams on technical methodologies, frameworks, software development lifecycles, and coding standards.

  
  
  

• Evaluate new ServiceNow features and release capabilities to align with organizational needs and transformation strategies.

  
  
  

• Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of ServiceNow developers and administrators.

  
  
  

• Establish and enforce code review processes, deployment strategies, and platform security best practices.

  
  
  

• Oversee platform health, performance tuning, and manage the technical impact of bi annual ServiceNow version upgrades.

  
  
  

• Partner with cross functional business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

  
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.

  
  
  

• Minimum 5 years of proven knowledge and hands on experience working with ServiceNow in a Development and Technical Architecture capacity.

  
  
  

• Advanced expertise in key integration technologies relevant to ServiceNow: JavaScript, SQL, SSO, SAML, SSL, REST Web Services, and JDBC/ODBC.

  
  
  

• Deep understanding of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework.

  
  
  

• Advanced coding proficiency in languages and frameworks associated with ServiceNow (JavaScript, Angular, Jelly).

  
  
  

• Strong grasp of software architecture principles applied to portals, websites, and complex systems integration projects.

  
  
  

• [Suggested Addition] Experience implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and using the Automated Test Framework (ATF) within ServiceNow.

  
  
  

• [Suggested Addition] Broad exposure to ServiceNow suites beyond ITSM, such as ITOM (IT Operations Management), ITAM (IT Asset Management), or HRSD (HR Service Delivery).

  
  
  

• At least three ServiceNow certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer, and Certified Implementation Specialist ITSM).

  
  
  

• Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) or Certified Application Architect (CAA) ServiceNow certifications are highly desirable.

  
  
  

• Strong foundational experience with ITIL processes; 

  
  
  

• Proven track record of working and delivering within Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  
  
  

• Exceptional problem solving skills with an ability to think innovatively and "outside the box.

  
  
  

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability; highly capable of organizing workloads, prioritizing tasks, and resolving complex problems independently.

  
  
  

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize, build trust, and maintain effective relationships with IT vendors and colleagues across all seniority levels.

  
  
  

• Positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong curiosity for continuous improvement in a fast paced environment.

  
  
  

• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.
